Webflow alternative

A Webflow alternative, from an agency that built in Webflow for years

We are not going to trash Webflow here. We built in it for years, and it served us and our clients well. Batia Mosa, a Belgian shipyard, got a complete brand identity from us and a Webflow platform that feels as disciplined as their yard.

Still, we no longer build in Webflow. Not because it is bad, but because the work our clients need has changed. This page is for founders who feel they are outgrowing Webflow, Framer or a template, and want to know what the alternative is.

Why we moved on

Webflow, Framer and AI templates made a good-looking website ordinary. That is good news for anyone who wants to get online fast. But it also means a good-looking site is no longer an advantage. What still sets a business apart is the story behind it, and what happens after someone lands on the page: the follow-up, the booking, the reply at eleven at night.

A site builder stops at the page. We wanted to build the whole path. So every project now runs on our own cloud-based agentic stack: brand, a front end in Next.js on Vercel, automations with Clark and messaging over WhatsApp, email and chat, in one system.

When Webflow or Framer is fine

To be fair: not everyone needs to switch. A builder is a good choice if:

  • Your site is mainly a calling card and does not need many connections
  • You or your team want to put pages together quickly in a visual editor
  • You are still finding your proposition and want to test what works first

Signs you are outgrowing it

The founders who come to us usually run into one of these. They want connections the builder does not support, or that only work with a pile of separate tools and plug-ins. They feel their site looks like their competitor's, because both came from the same building blocks. They want enquiries followed up automatically, not left sitting in an inbox. Or they simply want to own the code instead of renting it.

Beauty Specialist is an example of what a builder does not do: an AI specialist on a salon's site that answers questions, runs a skin scan and forwards every request, also when the salon is closed. And getclark.app, the site for our own AI product, won at the 19th Web Excellence Awards.

How a switch works with us

We do not copy your Webflow site one to one into Next.js. That would be a waste. We start with a half-day origin session with Seyed, map your brand in five layers, and then rebuild: faster, sharper and with the systems behind it that make your site work. You watch every step, so after launch you know how everything fits together.

Questions we often get

What is a good alternative to Webflow?

It depends on why you want to leave. If you are after another builder, there are plenty of options. If you want full freedom, connections to your systems and ownership of the code, a custom site in a framework like Next.js is the logical alternative.

Why does Weblyfe no longer build in Webflow?

Because a builder stops at the page, and our clients need more: follow-up, bookings, automation and messaging. We now build that in one stack of our own, with Next.js as the front end.

Will I lose my Google rankings if I switch?

A switch needs care, such as properly redirecting old URLs to new pages. We plan for that during the move, so your existing pages do not simply disappear.

Can I still edit things myself after switching?

Yes. You build alongside us and learn how everything works. How you manage content is set up around what suits you and your team.

Is Framer a better alternative than Webflow?

Framer and Webflow largely solve the same problem: building a good-looking site quickly in a visual editor. If you hit the limits of one, you often hit them in the other too.

What does switching from Webflow to custom cost?

We work without a price list. On a free call we look at your current site and what you need, and then you get a tailored proposal.
